Social Security Training

Eric Solem, Esq. and Kent Olsen, Esq. will present a training to trustees, attorneys and other professionals re: the new Program Operations Manual System (POMS), which is the primary source of information used by Social Security to process claims for Social Security benefits. The training will also include the Medicaid waiver programs and their eligibility procedures, especially related to Disability Trusts.

Colorado Developmental Disabilities Summit

Megan Brand participated in the DD Summit on behalf of CFPD. The first ever CO Developmental Disabilities summit was held on August 21st and 125 people from around the state participated. Megan is now participating in a group to identify natural supports within our community for people with developmental disabilities. 2009 Holiday Party

Our Holiday Party on Thursday December 10, 2009 at Harvard Gulch Recreation Center

was very well attended, with an estimated 80 clients plus additional family and support personnel helping us celebrate.

There was food, music and games for all. Dot and Lisa Renee manned the crafts tables while Ben, Cindy, Kathleen, Megan, and Janette were constantly meeting, greeting, helping, and listening to our clients, their hopes and concerns.

There was joy in faces of people who spend most of their energy and daily time, just getting through the day.
